Lavanya became involved in Sitara Handicrafts, showing remarkable skill in embroidery. With the money she earns from making handicrafts, she takes care of her parents and would like to buy a piece of land. Lavanya shares, “I want to show my people that I can succeed.”

Duplin Indian maroon silk backed with 100% cotton, embroidered with a diamond pattern centered throughout the length of the table runner, interspersed with tiny mirrors. This Kutch embroidery pattern originated during the 16th and 17th century in Patan, a little town in the state of Gujarat, India.
